Scarlett and the Spark of Lifee is a point and click adventure that's light-hearted and funny. While there have been some great point and click remakes recently, this is a new and original title.
From the first scene of Scarlett and the Spark of Life, it's clear that the lively dialogue is what will make the game. Even small characters are well characterized, and the Princess Scarlet, who has been kidnapped as princesses tend to be, is very well scripted. Sometimes it gets a little too clever, but overall it's amusing and a pleasure to read.
The gameplay in Scarlett and the Spark of Life is pretty standard point and click stuff. You have an inventory and have to use it to interact with the environment and characters to solve puzzles. You move Scarlet by touching the screen, and interact with objects in the same way. It's all pretty intuitive, although we'd have to say Broken Sword got the interface a little better.
Scarlett and the Spark of Life is the first of probably four episodes, and while it's a little short, it's great fun and feels like the start of a franchise you will enjoy coming back to in the future.
